Behind The Lens
Location
Bradenton Florida, at the skate park by the water and under the big bridge.Time
12:30 not the best time of day to be shooting with the heavy sunlight and dark shadows!Lighting
The lighting was probably the worst time of day around noon overhead. It's an action shot and not a portrait. I did use the on camera flash to fill in some.Equipment
Nikon D7100, ISO 100, 70-200 Nikon zoom, f/11 125th sec. hand heldInspiration
I was shooting skate boarding with my grandson who was 10 years old and he was jumping over the street marker with this older teenager. The older kid had a good form and so I followed him as he did a few tricksEditing
It was shot on Nikon in color. I converted it to black & white in Photoshop, and then I worked on tones and little dodging and burning. In my camera bag
I have three different bags I use depending on the job. Bag 1 has a camera and a couple of lenses to just go Bag 2 I know what I'm doing and take two bodies, batteries, portable flash, assortment of lenses Bag 3 It's a bigger job and I need most of my gear, Set of primes, zoom, set of portable strobes,Feedback
For sports and action work I suggest you over shoot! Shoot as much as you can and sometimes as fast as you can. You never know what going to happen and what you will get. Even when you set up the shots.
