Location
The photo was taken in St Kilda, about an hours drive from my home town of Frankston.Time
It was the sunset of a long day at Kooyong watching the davis cup.Lighting
I really wanted to bring out the red of the sunset, which was probably one of the best I have ever witnessedEquipment
This was shot with a canon 7d, sigma 10-20mm lense, manfrotto tripod, a 10 stop nd filter and a nd4 graduated filter.Inspiration
I had taken a photo similar to this but it had a friend taking up a good part of the frame, also the colour just wasn't there, I decided that I would go back and atempt it again.Editing
During post processing I blended about 5 images together to create the panorama, I also enhanced the contrast and added a touch of saturation to really bring out the sky.In my camera bag
In my bag I usually carry my canon 7d, sigma 10-20mm, canon 50mm and canon 18-135mm as my lenses, I also use a shutter remote, graduated nd filters and a 10 stop circular nd filter and last but not least my manfrotto befree tripod.Feedback
Around the begining of march is the perfect time to shoot this location when the sun sets late enough for there to not be to many people in the way and is also in a good position, try to position everything in the right angle to create hierarchy and draw the viewer into the image
