for this month's Art of self portraiture challenge we wanted for everyone to create self portraits based off of famous works of art

the death of Marat by Jacques-Louis David has long been a painting that has always intrigued me. borrowing from the grace of Michelangelo's Pietà it tells the tale of Marat who some saw as a radical french leader and others saw as a blood thirsty beast after the moment he was stabbed to death in his bath by Charlotte Corday whom many considered the true heroine of the story

nevertheless, it is a painting that has stuck in my mind from the day i first saw it and i wanted to see if i could manage to reproduce it via a photo and what you see here is my attempt
