Location
This shot was taken in an undisturbed 10 acre forest in East central IndianaTime
It was a rainy Saturday during the early afternoon.Lighting
It was a rainy day and the lighting was naturally diffused by the clouds.Equipment
This was shot using a Canon T5 with a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. I used a Slik tripod and a remote shutter release to minimize movement.Inspiration
It was a rainy Saturday when I finally discovered viewbug.com. I didn't consider walking out in the rain to take pictures so I decided to look at all of the beautiful pictures on this site. In doing so I noticed the water drops on flowers contest. I then decided to try to get a shot of my own. Our forest was full of small wildflowers and I had plenty of rain. My main concern was keeping my lens and camera dry. I took about 80 shots of various flowers and headed back home. It was only after downloading the images that I noticed the raindrop falling off of the flower.Editing
I used photoshop in post processing to increase the contrast, and vibrancy. It was the first time that I used a post processing program on an image. In my camera bag
A Canon t5, a Canon 50mm lens, the 18-55mm kit lens, a remote shutter release, an extra memory card and an extra battery are always in the bag. During the night time a Samyang 16mm f/2.0 is in it as well.Feedback
Keep your equipment dry and find something interesting. I for one can never get it right on the first shot so I always take multiple snaps of the same image. The most important thing is to take the necessary time to craft the shot that's pleasing to you.
