Wow, I don't know how you did that with those gorgeous colours as I'm not a photographer. However, it's absolutely gorgeous. Hope to be half as good some day.

Location
This was one of our stops on a long trip, the south rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona, US.Time
The time was around 4:30PM, the sun was low but filled the great big hole with beautiful light. It was shot at f/2.8 and 1/1000 sec. ISO 100.Lighting
Although there was plenty of light, it was slowly diminishing and rushed us to take photos. The diffused light on the many layers of rock on the canyon walls brought out colors we did not see just 30 minutes before.Equipment
Shot with a Nikon D750 with a Nikor 80-200 f/2.8D ED. Handheld.Inspiration
My son has been stationed in California for the last 7 years, he is a sergeant in the US Marines. He was relocated to New Jersey early 2016, which is where my wife and I live. Since he had a car to relocate, we decided to take a cross country trip from California to New Jersey. I flew out there and drove back with him, stopping at every place that called to us, and many placed did just that - but none as much as this majestic canyon! I asked him to run to the edge that I saw from another lookout point since it looked amazing. He got there in a few minutes and with no one else around him I shot a series of photos from where I was.Editing
I tend to underexpose photos I like these so that I can avoid losing detail from the highlights. I shoot in raw and can bring out a stop or two in post without a problem. So my post processing included exposure, bringing out shadows and adjusting white balance and color. I also sharpened and cropped - all in Lightroom. In my camera bag
My go to body is my Nikon D750. I have a Nikon D7000 and an older Nikon D80 as well. The D750 is outstanding in low light, and its focusing is always spot-on. My favorite lens remains the Nikor 80-200 f/2.8D ED, which I shot this photo with. It is the best lens I have ever had within my budget and continues to be the one I use most. I also carry a Tokina 11-16 f/2.8, a Tamron 24-75 f/2.8, a Nikor 50mm f/1.8, a Tokina 100mm 2.8 Macro and a couple other lenses. I was carrying a heavy backpack full of gear with the addition of a heavy duty tripod as well. I was not going to miss a single shot! :)Feedback
The Grand Canyon is GRAND! We only had a couple of hours to devote to it because we needed to move on, but spending two days there would be ideal. I have never been to the Canyon, and assumed the edges were somehow fenced off, but they are not. You can easily get photos with nobody else in the picture if you go to the right places. Carry what you need but do not overload yourself like I did. If you need to leave a lens so that you can carry some water, definitely do that. It is overwhelming to gaze at at first, so give yourself some time to simply admire in awe without doing a thing!
