Location
Island Beach State Park is a ten mile stretch of undeveloped barrier island in New Jersey. The park is home to many native plants, a large variety of birds, and a population of red fox. The fox are most active in the winter, when the beach traffic is minimal. They are accustomed to people, since they are not threatened. This individual was comfortable enough that he curled up for a nap while I was only ten feet away.Time

Photographing wildlife requires patience, they don't follow directions well and have a mind of their own. It is necessary to take many shots. Out of twenty-five or so, you may get one really good one.Since I don't have to buy film or pay for processing anymore, I am learning the joy of unlimited photos. You just might get lucky with a photo you didn't see until you look at them later. The unexpected gem is very rewarding.
