Location
Ever since moving in to my house, models have loved the pink bath and wanted to shoot in it.Time
From what I remember this was late one afternoon, but being indoors, it was shot with strobes anyway.Lighting
Lighting was very simple, just a single strobe in the tiny bathroom bounced off the roof without any modifiers. Having white walls gave some nice secondary reflected light softening the whole look.Equipment
Shot with a Nikon D3 and a 35mm lens to get everything to fit in, holding it (ie. not looking through the viewfinder) over the model from a step ladder. Lighting was an Elinchrom setup down quite low.Inspiration
Model's idea was a milk bath shoot and with pink being her favourite colour, seeing my bathroom made it perfect for her.Editing
A little bit of Photoshop to make the milk pure white (milk was a powder from a local cosmetics outlet) along with a bit of skin smoothing. In my camera bag
I normally travel with a D3 and various lenses (35, 50, 85, 105), along with an Elinchrom setup (Ranger RX and/or Quadra) and a 135cm Octa or 70cm folding beauty dish is my typical setup.Feedback
Play around with different angles, shoot high, shoot low, stretch around to keep your feet out of shot, shoot wide and crop, etc. Just make sure you keep your model informed of where you want to look and DON'T drop your camera on them!
