This sweet friend never had a picture taken of her in her wedding dress. So she asked me if I would take one. When I got there she was devastated to discover that her dress no longer fit because she had had her son 10 months before. So I offered to take some photos of her and her son instead. As a result, I believe we captured one of the most magical mother son shots I have ever captured to date!

Location
This photo was taken in a field at a friends farm in a rural part of the Ozarks in Missouri.Time
This was taken in the evening as the sun was going down at 6:10pm on April 22nd. I really wanted that golden look and it was perfect!Lighting
The only lighting used in this photo is the natural sun light doing the golden hour.Equipment
This was a very quick spare of the moment shoot so all I had with me was my Sony a7 mark 2 and Samyang 85mm 1.4 lens.Inspiration

There was actually quite a lot of post-processing with this photo. It's a composite of three different photos taken from the same session, one of the mother laying on the ground, one of the son holding the flower which I took the the flower from and put it in the mom's hand and another one of the son reaching for the flower. You can watch the entire process here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sTZ8ymzvEEIn my camera bag
My bag is always packed and ready to go! I have my Sony a7 mark 2 with my two most used lenses, a Samyang 85mm 1.4 and a Pentax 50mm 1.7, two extra batteries, two extra 64gb sd cards, my Samsung nx500 and Samyang 85mm 1.4 backup camera and lens and a cleaning kit.Feedback
Something that really made this photo happen was taking a lot of different elements from different photos from the session and putting them together, so something I'm always telling people is to take a lot of different photos of things around you and think about how you could composite them together in a photo.
