Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken from a cruise ship balcony, between Victoria Island and Vancouver, Canada.

Time

This was taken at sunset. Actually, I spent over two hours taking shot after shot and feeling giddy with joy at the incredible beauty of the scenes that kept unfolding and changing. I have over 200 "keepers" from this one sunset. This is one of the last in the series.

Lighting

The lighting was provided by God and nature. The light IS the picture.

Equipment

Nikon D5300.

Inspiration

Look at the photo. Seeing this was the inspiration (I skipped dinner for this).

Editing

Minimal post processing. At the time, I was a beginner in DSLR photography.

In my camera bag

Now I have a Nikon D850. My everyday lens is an AFS Nikkor 28-300mm zoom. Depending on the shoot, I will add one or more other lenses, ranging from wide angle to 500mm telephoto.

Feedback
