Behind The Lens

Location

I took this while at a beach restaurant in Langebaan, Western Cape, South Africa. I'm always with some sort of camera and snap away when I see something truly worth capturing.

Time

This was taken at 14h00 on 15-04-2016. It was a lazy afternoon, the sun was high and everything just stood out perfectly.

Lighting

Due to the fact that the sun was high in the sky it allowed the white sand to brighten up the whole scene. It also the perfect amount of shadow as not to cover too much of the image.

Equipment

All I had with me was my Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I have always loved the imaged produced by this device so I studied the scene snapped off a few shot getting this one as the best.

Inspiration

I was taking a walk after lunch and came across this stranded boat which was quote a bit away from the sea. Something about it just caught my eye and I had to capture it.

Editing

I decided it was good as is. No post-processing was down to this image.

In my camera bag

Most of the time I am with mt Samsung Galaxy Note 4, but if I know I am going somewhere that I can get really nice picture I will pack my Cannon 600D.

Feedback

Go with your gut feel. If you see something that catches you eye then capture it (with a camera of course...) The beauty of digital photography is that you can snap away as much and you want and then even find a true gem after the fact. You can also just delete what you don't like at the end of the day. The world is full of fascinating and beautiful things. Don't think small and say no that won't work, look at it from an different angle and something will most probably pop out at you.
