This shot is absolutely fantastic. As in the words of my basic training TI, "outf#&king standing." Great shot.

The photo of the Elephant at Sunset was taken in the Sabi Sands (southern area of South Africa's Kruger Park )Time

In Southern Africa the dusk is short so sunset is a very fast affair - you need to be in the correct position ready and able to capture your shot in an instantEquipment

post processing from time to timeIn my camera bag
In my bag I have Cameras x 2 - Canon 5D Mk111 / Canon7D Lenses -Canon 24x105mm f/4; 70x200mm 2.8mm ; sometimes EF600mm or 500mmFeedback
I find that with wildlife photography you need to be at the right place at the right time (lucky) and you MUST be perceptive to your surroundings and ready and able to take advantage of any/every occurrence as things happens very fast. Further never question yourself as to wether or not to take a shot. My philosophy is " press the trigger as often as possible" - you can always delete the shot but can never re-capture the moment.
