This image was captured on March 23rd 2016 and was the highlight of my Iceland vacation. It had been a lifelong goal of mine to witness the Northern Lights from the ground (having seen them many times from the air but not vividly). This image represents months worth of study of the phenomena and weather required, 12hrs of driving to and from the location, 2hrs of spot planning before sunset, 4.5hrs worth of freezing temperatures after sundown - and it was all worth it!
