Location
This photo was taken from the Rockpile at Moraine lake in Canada, near Lake Louise.Time
Believe it or not I took this photo at sunrise. The days before were perfectly clear but this morning it was breezy, cloudy and drizzling.Lighting
Because of the clouds the light was very diffuse. Even so you the mountains were reflected in the lake.Equipment
This was shot on a tripod with a Sony A7R and Sony FE 16-35 f4 lense at 18mm.Inspiration
Most of the photos I've seen of Moraine Lake were in bright sunshine with great reflections off the lake. This cloudy morning gives a more mysterious feel.Editing
I actually bracketed this shot so I combined them using Lightroom CC HDR.In my camera bag
I now have a Sony A7RII with the FE 24-70 f2.8, FE 16-35 f4 and the Zeiss 4/85 ZM.Feedback
Get up early even on cloudy days! You never know what the shot could look like.
