Location
This photo was taken in Zarautz, in the Basque Country of Northern Spain.Time
This was taken in the afternoon after a long hot drive towards the end of a 3 week roadtrip with a group of friends. We had been beach hopping for a few weeks along the coast of Portugal. On this day we had to drive a long way to make up some time, so by the time we arrived in Zarautz we were so excited to see the water we just jumped in straight off the walls of the port.Lighting
This spot was interesting because it was shadowed by the walls of the port, but the water itself had ripples of water reflected from the nearby rocks.Equipment
This was taken on a canon 5D mark ii with a 24-70mm lens.Inspiration
Joy. This was a beautiful moment with a group of amazing friends. For me this photo encapsulates an amazing roadtrip with a group of amazing friends.Editing
I brought up the black point. There was too much distraction from the contrast in the rocks below the surface. Apart from that I boosted the contrast curve and reduced the saturation slightly of the orange/ yellow tones. In my camera bag
Canon 5D mark ii with 24-70mm, 40mm and 85mm. Fujifilm XT-1 with 35mm lens and flash.Feedback
For me this image is all about the perspective. I climbed a ladder to get above my friends as they were swimming together.
