Seljalandsfoss is one of the best known waterfalls in Iceland and it's possible to walk behind it, but I gotta tell you the mist coming from it doesn't make it that easy at all to take a picture! It's pretty crazy! But the feeling you get when you get out of there all wet from head to toe with your gear is amazing!
This waterfall of the river Seljalandsá drops 60 metres over the cliffs of the former coastline.

Behind The Lens

Location
I took this photo in Iceland. This is seljalandsfoss, one of the best known waterfalls there.
Time
It was sunset, during golden hour
Lighting
I chose to take this shot during sunset coz at sunrise the sun rises behind the waterfall. So at sunset I got all that beautiful light over the rocks
Equipment
I used a samyang 12mm f2.8 on a Canon 6d. No tripod, I barely have few seconds to take the shot due to the mist coming from the waterfall! It's crazy! And no flash either all natural light.
Inspiration
I wanted to do something a bit different than all the seljalandsfoss photos over the net
Editing
I did a bit of post process. No sky replacement or anything like that, just few tweaks for shadows and highlights, bit of saturation and stuff like that
In my camera bag
In my bag u'll find a Canon 6d, a gorilla tripod, Canon 24-105mm f4 L, samyang 12mm f2.8, sigma 35mm f1.4, a lens cleaner tissu, a charger, Hoya 1000ND filter for my Canon lens, extra batteries, headlamp and a GoPro
Feedback
Iceland is a beautiful place, the environment changes all the time there! My only advice is plan a head before you go, Check the place, Check when the position of the sun suits you for your shot. I use an app called PlanIt on Android where u can do all that and much more! And of course be careful when u're in the field it could get dangerous sometimes, watch where u're stepping or positioning ur tripod.
