Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in a beautiful wedding venue in South Africa, Avianto, Plot 69, R114, Muldersdrift, Krugersdorp, South Africa, 1747 http://www.avianto.co.za/ We hired a suite for the day and we had a blast...

Time

I started around 9am and ended at 3pm. I had a few clients to shoot that day and this was the last one of the day.

Lighting

The room was well lit as I could have the curtains wide open bringing in natural light combined with a flash.

Equipment

This was shot with Nikon D610.

Inspiration

This was my first Boudoir shoot and I absolutely loved it, and have done a few since then. There is something so satisfying in taking an every day real woman and turning her into an enchantress on camera. The wonders it does for her confidence transcends just her physical relationships but also her daily interactions with people and life. Whether she chooses to share the photos with a loved one or not, she knows she is beautiful.

Editing

Post Editing was to crop and add a vignette for mood.

In my camera bag

Nikon D610, 18mm - 200mm Lens, Flash, memory cards, a lot of batteries with battery charges.

Feedback

The more relaxed a woman feels and the more she starts to believe how beautiful she is, the more that will show in the photos. I will show her a couple of photos after I have taken them on my camera and it immediately boosts her confidence. For this particular shot, I had her shift until her bottom was against the wall and feet straight in the air against the wall, i draped the sheet on her and took the shot.
