Location
This photo was taken in a park in London.Time
It was shot on 11th Apr 2016 between 11:00 to 13:00.Lighting
One can never trust UK weather. When I left home for the shoot, it was bright & sunny. The perfect weather, but by the time I could take out my camera and set everything, it went gloomy. I still shot photos and added a bit of exposure in post processing. After this particular photo, I prefer taking photos in gloomy climate rather than hot sunny weather.Equipment
This was shot on Nikon D610 with 28-300 lens & a Canon (Bg) borrowed from a friend.Inspiration
I love fall season where everything looks yellow & wanted to capture yellow dressed child with yellow background. But when I bought the dress, it was spring. But I couldn't wait till next fall, so just took the child to the park near me and this is the result. & I get inspired looking at photos the other photographers post on viewbug and those I follow.Editing
I always post process photos. I took the closeup shot of the child and then took another shot zoomed out and then merged together so that the sharpness is not lost.In my camera bag
I carry Nikon D610 with 50mm (a must), 28-300mm & 105mm sigma lens (one of my favourites), a flash (if weather is not in favour), ND filter & polariser filter (for nature photos)Feedback
weather is a challenge and capturing kid's photo the way you want is even more. Nature can be post processed but not a child's expression. So if you want both to be perfect, get to befriend the child.Talk about their interests, bribe them a little..and never ask them to pose. They never will unless you are lucky enough. Give child the prop you are using and tell them to do whatever they feel like and then capture the moments. In this photo, The background was too close to have only the child in focus. So I had to take another blurry shot of just the background and added later.
