Location
I took this photo on my land. My family and I live on 60 acres in Oklahoma.Time
This photo was taken right around sunset.Lighting
I was actually losing light faster than I wanted and having to up my ISO quite a bit.Equipment
For this shot, I used my Canon 5d Mark iii and my 50L.Inspiration
I love a good vintage piece, so when I saw this bike, I had to have it. It was really my inspiration piece. I knew I wanted to use the bike for a senior session I had coming up. Allison, the beautiful young lady in the photo, had the perfect look for a vintage inspired session. The vintage-look red bandana and red lip were a perfect addition. I continued the vintage Americana feel with a simple blue tank and loved the pop of yellow from the flowers. We completed the look with a vintage Coke bottle that said "grad" on it.Editing
For post-processing, I started by adding some contrast and added a slight vignette. I enhanced the color and added a slight haze to it. Not much else with this photo. I wanted to keep it bright and happy. In my camera bag
In my bag, I normally have my 5d Mark iii, the 70-200L, 50L, 35L, a grey card, and plenty of CF cards.Feedback
When trying to capture a similar shot, find your inspiration piece, and work off of that. The bike was my inspiration, and from there, I just brainstormed about what would work with it and the look of my model. And have fun!!
