One of the benefits of riding the Alaskan Railroad between Anchorage, Denali National Park, and Fairbanks, Alaska is the scenery you would not be privy to in a car or a plane, is the beautiful and varied scenery you see on the train. A couple of major issues are: the dome windows do not provide you a clear image to photograph; you have a VERY small open air vestibule between railroad cars to get clearer images; all of the smokers are out there with you, so breathing is a challenge; the wind is very cold as it slaps against your body, etc. However, if you factor all of those variables in to your photographing, PLUS the jarring motion of the train itself, you can get some spectacular images of nature, such as this angle of Denali, that you would not see once you are in the park.
