I took this photo on a farm i was living on in Drakensberg. Had this old shed filled with hay bales , thought it would be a great spot for taking pictures. Was great lighting , which made it ideal for taking photos.Time
Was late morning when i took the photo , probably around 10 , so light wasn't so harsh.Lighting
I had a bit of side lighting from sun , can be great to try and light up your subjects , as long as its not to much. You can then use spot metering to balance the light on your subjects or be creative with it as in Low Key shots.Equipment
Shot taken with one of my first cameras , Canon 50D , Tamron 70-300mm Lens , never used tripod as wanted to get multiple photos at different angles.Inspiration
My then girlfriends daughter wanted to get into modeling , so she asked me to take some photos of her so she could use them for a portfolio. We both had alot of fun taking these pictures.Editing
I did very little post processing , just sharpening and converting to black & white. In my camera bag
At the moment , my bag contains two cameras , Canon 60D and 80D. I have a Sigma 70mm F2.8 lens as well as a Sigma 18-250mm F3.5 lens. I have a Canon 430 Exii speedlite flash and a Gary Fong Diffuser. I also carry a manfrotto tripod.Feedback
Best advice i can give fellow photographers , take photos early morning or late afternoon when sun isn't to harsh. Try and use much of the natural light given to try enhance your photos also gives you a chance to get creative with your shots such as rim lighting hair , giving a nice golden glow.
