Behind The Lens

Location

This is Crown Fountain in Millennium Park Chicago,IL

Time

It was afternoon around 3-4pm winter time after a late night snowfall.

Lighting

The cloudy skies were making the architecture really show its detail.

Equipment

Used a Canon 70D with a Rokinon 14mm lense

Inspiration

Millennium Park is such a busy spot with great sculptures and art all around that during the holiday season it is a must for some creative street photography. Also gets you in the holiday spirit. I set my camera on the ground right in front of a puddle to try and capture the reflection off the Crown Fountain structure.

Editing

I used Lightroom

In my camera bag

I use a hiking bag instead of a camera bag because it holds up to the elements better usually and I don't like broadcasting I have expensive equipment in my bag specially walking around Chicago in the late night hours. Inside I have a Canon 70D, my wide angle Rokinnon lens, Manfrotto tripod. Charger and a handful of batteries is a must. Rain gear or winter gear because I love the elements and live for the most extreme weather conditions.

Feedback

I picked up my first camera a year and a half ago (besides my phone camera) and I just wanted to walk around and capture the worlds beauty. From the people, the amazing structures we build or just the wonders in the universe. No matter what you enjoy shooting be creative. The guidelines we are given are made to be broken. Experiment with your camera on angels, settings or what you are looking at. See the small details that surround us every day while also understand how small we really are. The only thing that matters about that photo you love is that you love it. If you love your capture and you love the end result, that is all that matters. Not how many likes or what recognition you get determines how good a photo is.
