Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in Zaragoza (Spain) in a place called "Valle de Chistau". I was doing a road trip and I passed inside a tunnel caved in the rock. It was really dark and narrow when I saw these drops falling from the upper side of the rock. To take this picture I had to find a place to leave the car without puting other drivers in danger. Fortunately, near there was a hole in the rock where I could park. I couldn't resist to take this picture, even when I knew it was a little dangerous to stop there and walk around that tunnel.

Time

It was midday, but inside the tunnel was very dark, except in the spot where I saw the drops falling form the rock.

Lighting

It was a bit challenging to capture the drops, because they were falling really quick. So I had to find the perfect spot to take the picture and play with a very short time of exposure and the aperture to get all details and textures of the rock.

Equipment

Sony RX100 M3

Inspiration

The drops falling from the upper side of the rock, the light through the drops and the singularity of the tunnel was really suggestive. I couldn't miss that shot.

Editing

I just made small post-processing with Lightroom, in order to balance lightning and other small retouching.

In my camera bag

Sony RX100 M3, small tripod and a lantern. Sometimes I use a big tripod, too.

Feedback

Try to find the balance between exposure and aperture. This picture was taken in a very dark place, so I set the aperture in f/1.8.
