Pele, the volcano goddess, was feeling playful. The clouds parted just long enough to catch the amazing "summer Milky Way" in Hawaii. I'm still so wound up that I haven't slept yet. It was truly an experience I'll never forget. ❤️❤️❤️
This is a single shot taken on my Sony A7s (f2.0, 8 seconds, 2500 ISO). I happened to be there at a time of unusual activity in the crater, but when I first arrived it was raining. I managed to keep the camera somewhat dry but I was soaked to the bone. Then, the clouds parted and I could see the Milky Way. It was such an overwhelming experience. I set my camera up to shoot continuously after I got this shot, and fell asleep wet, cold and totally blissed out. I'll never forget that sight asking as I live!
