I have stayed in Oia 3 times now, every stray dog with a collar has been neutered or spayed, I like also the feeding and watering station in the center of Oia that is always full of food and water for them..We nearly decided to adopt one too, but as we already heave two rescues decided not to :-(

Location
The village of Oia, on the Island of Santorini, Greece. Took this in September of 2015Time
high noon. and it was a VERY hot day indeed. Poor boy was enjoying his siesta when i stumbled into himLighting
yes. As it was extremely bright (Santorini sun can be quite harsh and unforgiving) I was pleased at the fact i could find the shading as much as i did.Equipment
LOL. my Iphone. I actually took a better shot with the Iphone than when I swung out My Nikkon. I thin k it was because as soon as i saw the frame, I took it. By the time I used my actual camera, the moment had passed, and eventually He woke up, changing the entire scene. Its about those lightning fast moments.Inspiration
There was something about him, how his Fur reflected to the textures of the wall, the ground... it just screamed "photo!" I loved the shot instantly. It completely reflected the Relaxed, Laid-back Feel of Santorini, and in particular the town of Oia, which was always so relaxed.Editing
Yes. Because it was an iphone shot, some work was required to pull it all together. Foremost, I actually Used HDR to help pull out the textures, making them Pop out more, then flipped it into Black and white, working the contrasts to give that decay look.In my camera bag
I have a huge bag, a full Backpack it always feels like I'm a soldier hiking with full gear on. With that pack, I always bring my Nikkor 55-300mm, my Nikkor 200-500mm, and my "go to" lens Nikkor 14-24 Ultra wide lens, (How I love that lens!) Add the Lee Little and Big Stoppers, the Hard ND Grad 3 stops filters, the 4-5 back up batteries, Lens cleaners and cloths, extra Memory cards, I'm usually good to go for anything.Feedback
always look. and if you see that one moment, take the shot. whether it be your camera, or your phone, whatever you need. Ive seen some amazing shots taken with just an iphone, so its more about the event, and the opportunities, than the actual equipment.
