Behind The Lens

Location

this was taken in Corpach just outside Fort William Scotland with Ben Nevis in the background with a snowy top it is known as the old boat of Caol

Time

taken around 1pm I only had a short time in the area the so made the most of the shadow of the boat to hide from the direct sun on my right

Lighting

there was direct light not much cloud cover so used the boat as cover to include the infamous Ben Nevis in the distance

Equipment

this was taken with a Sony SLT A33 and 18-200 kit lens f6.3 ISO 100 at 1/400 sec

Inspiration

I was in Fort William looking for various photo opportunities when I chanced across this while walking around Corpach I was instantly intrigued and wanted to record this shipwreck

Editing

just adjusted the contrast brightness and mid tones using a program called Fusion this is normally for HDR images but I find on a single photo it helps to bring out the details

In my camera bag

nowadays i have a Fuji x100S a Fuji x10 also a small no brand tripod I find these cameras give just as good if not better image quality and a lot less weight to carry around no need for extra lenses

Feedback

the best advice would be go out and take a walk around and actually see the area you never know what you might find to photograph i never plan just always have a camera with me
