Gorgeous, rich tones. Congratulations on your People's Choice win for Abandoned Buildings.

Behind The Lens

Location

Just outside of Greenock in the Barossa Valley, South Australia

Time

Around midday to minimize shadow

Lighting

I wanted to capture the true beauty of this abandoned old small farm house by taking the photo at midday to avoid as many shadows as possible

Equipment

The only thing I had on me was my Samsung Galaxy S6 at the time when I came across this building and that was good enough for me

Inspiration

History inspired me. To think how hard and yet simple it was back in the past to live and farm our vast farming lands

Editing

Simply edited it on my phone with a HDR filter then used a black and white filter.

In my camera bag

Mobile phone, Nikon D3100 and a tripod

Feedback

When teying to capture a abandoned building, try and capture it's surroundings as that can also help to tell the story.
