Location
I took this photo as I wandered the vast array of laneways to be found around the city of Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia.Time
It was taken mid morning on a cold and windy day as I navigate gated the network of lanes with my three daughters.Lighting
Although it was a fairly dull day, the available light was shining into the lane just enough to brighten the wall of graffiti and my eldest daughters face.Equipment
Shot on a Canon 5D Mark11 with a Canon 24-105 F4 lens. Handheld.Inspiration
It was hard not to be inspired here, there is an endless amount of lanes, all covered with a wide assortment of graffiti. I literally did not stop taking images as we passed from one laneway to the next.Editing
Fairly simple post processing, cropped, a bump in the curves and a slight addition to the contrast and saturation. It didn’t need anymore. In my camera bag
On a day put like this I don’t carry too much equipment. The camera and 24-79F4 lens, a Canon 70-200 F2.8 in a backpack and a tripod over my shoulder.Feedback
In places like this keep looking all around, up, down and especially behind you, there are so many opportunities for great shots. I remember particular image was only taken as I looked back down area in the lane I had already passed.
