I was looking at trying to keep the details and it was tricky with the sun still high in the sky to keep the contrast and highlights under control. Still it was a good clear high cloud day and I was able to work around the light inside and outside this buildingEquipment
Canon 70D, Tamron 10-24mm lens. Hand held. No filters, no tripodInspiration
Of great historical importance but sadly in a poor state of abandonment, I wanted to capture this once beautiful wooden Palace. It is a not very well known but typical of it's Malay style wooden building. I wanted to capture it before it either decays into noting but weeds or before it may get restored again to it's former beauty.Editing
Yes this was PP in Lr5.7 for a a general clean up then exported into PSE12 for some HDR effect work to be done on it.In my camera bag

Take you time, don't rush, take lots of different angles and views. Try to get at different heights if you can(looking up or looking down) . Try and makes sure the sun is behind you. Expose for the sky and bring up the shadows in PP. Don't be frightened to get up close and focus on the details. Walk round it and shoot as you go, make it like an exploration for the viewer or for yourself.
