Is There Anybody Out There? - Galloway Forest Park, SW Scotland.

Over 7,000 stars and planets are visible with the naked eye from the Galloway Forest Park.
During clear conditions, the bright band of the Milky Way may be seen arching across the night sky.
The bright object in centre frame above the tree is the planet, Jupiter.
This Park is one of the darkest places in the United Kingdom resulting in the area being awarded the UK’s first Dark Sky Park.
The Forest Park has a Sky Quality Meter (SQM) scale reading of 21 to 23.6.
The SQM scale runs on a scale from 0 to 25 - to put the Park's reading into context, the middle of a major city would produce a reading of around 8, whereas a photographers dark room would produce a reading of 24.
Based on this scale, the Forest Park’s reading results in near to total darkness and amazing celestial viewing or in my case, photography :)
