March 29th is my Mom's Birthday. I keep her in a very 'safe harbour' in my Heart. Yes, time does ease the pain, but I miss her every day. Her smile, her wonderful hugs where I always was wrapped in the sweet aroma of her favorite perfume. Her hands......hard working but ALWAYS so soft. When I was a child, every night she would come upstairs and hold my hands while we said my Prayers. I never wanted to let go of her hand, so warm, so soft, - she knelt by my bed, no matter how exhausted and gave me those few minutes I begged for, just to hold her hand a bit longer. I have always loved the Jann Arden song, 'Good Mother', and Celine Dion has one, 'Mama'. I was blessed to have a good Mother. Blessed to have one who despite her very poor upbringing and childhood memories that were difficult to talk about - she tried her best to give us 'the best of her'. I thank God that he blessed me with a Mom who cared to teach me good morals, the importance of decency and respect for others - and most of all - she taught me how to Love. She was not perfect but neither am I or any of us for that matter, but how BLESSED are we if we have had a good Mother? Love and Miss you Mom XO XO XO XO
