Location
In Etosha National Park - Namibia.Time
Was late afternoon around 5.30 P.M.Lighting
Africa's light is magical, especially eary morning and late afternoon. Better if is winter time, because the air is more clean.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7100 with the Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM and my back pack as support.Inspiration
During the dry season the water holes are crowded of any type of animals....from little creatures to the giants such as giraffes and elephants. This springbok after he drunk decided to go for a refreshment inside the pond. He was standing there without moving and no other animals joined the swim, this situation allowed the reflection. Wildlife photography is about patience and luck....that afternoon I was both.Editing
I'm pleased and happy with RAW files of my cameras (Nikon & Sony), so I just minimal work in ACR. I use to say that I'd rather prefer to spend hours on the field shooting with my cameras and lenses, than staying in front of a computer editing thousands of pics.In my camera bag
I really don't have a basic kit...I t depends where and what I'm going to shoot. A basic kit would be my Nikon D3 S with the Nikon 70-200mm f2,8 VRII and the Nikon D810 with the Nikon 24-70mm f2,8. FIlters, extra batteries, remote shutters and my Manfrotto tripod will complete the basic kit.Feedback
Wildlife photography as I mentioned before is based and patience and luck......sometimes you have to spend hours just waiting the subject and the right light to be happy with your photo-shooting.
