Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Csopak (Hungary), that is a village next to my hometown, Balatonfüred. In Csopak there are a lot almond trees, and they are pretty nice at springtime.

Time

As I remember it was shot afternoon. I finished with my work...then go home, and I stopped in Csopak looking for some nice almond trees.

Lighting

There sun was shining pretty well, and that was great for me, because I wanted the photo to be as natural as possible.

Equipment

I shot it with my beloved Nikon D7100 and with normal 50mm f/1.8 lens...nothing else...no tripod, no flash.

Inspiration

I really wanted to to shoot something springlike. First I wanted to take a landscape with the almond trees, and I did. But then I realized, that it is pretty boring, because there weren't enough colors in the environment. And then I tought, "what if I shoot some macros?" ....and this is the end-result.

Editing

The only post-processing is that I slightly cutted the photo to fit more to the rule of thirds.

In my camera bag

I only got a small bag, so cannot have too much in it, but at that time my Nikon 50 mm f/1.8 lens used to be with me, together with my 18-55 kit lens. Actually I love this kit lens to the landscapes, because it has good zoom-range and with a little bit of fine-tuning you can shoot pretty sharp photos. Since that, I purchased a Tamron 24-70 f/2.8, that is a good all-in-one lens...really good for portraits, and good enough for landscapes. Besides these, there are always 2 remote controls with me, a cable-release and an infrared. I also have some filters in my bag (ND 1000, ND4-400, CPL).

Feedback

Find out which tree blossoms at which time, and basically...that's all.
