horses healing hearts is the name of a therapy ranch my family volunteers at. we were cleaning the barn when jack (left) and faith (right) came up and leaned over the gate on the barn doors to see what we were doing. they are like little kids the want to be in the middle of everything and when i saw them with there heads so close together i had to grab my camera and I'm so glad i did this is one of my favorite pictures i have ever taken of the horses.the ranch is near my home in Neosho mo.Time
it was around 3 in the afternoon i remember it was so hot in the barn. we were afraid we would get sick from the heat i drank so much water i thought i would turn into a fish. but,we had work to do we organized all the shelves but we were moving the feed bags when jack and faith started to come around they thought they would have treats coming there way. this picture turned out so well they both got a handful of apple treats each.Lighting
i loved how the light made jack look ageless. he was the old man on the ranch we lost him a few months after this picture was taken. but, in that moment i thought he would live forever.Equipment

the horses inspired me many are mustangs and there is a gentleness about them and something more it is so hard to put into words they reach into your mind, heart and soul to fill it with peace. I had suffered the death of my sister and 3 months later my mother i could not function on a steady basis for a while but with the help of the horses i am now in school to become a professional photographer.Editing

i am still a beginner so i only have my cannon rebel. but i always have it with me you never know when you will find a great shot.Feedback
the only advice i have is to take pictures of what you love. if you love children take pictures of them laughing, or if you love dogs take pictures of them your love will come across on film. i love all of the horses at the ranch them helped me heal from my pain and my love shows.
