You can’t take this picture any more. The building at Battery Park in Lower Manhattan, has been remodeled into an upscale restaurant & bar complex (with magnificent city and Liberty views!…). The building was originally completed in 1886 as Marine Division Headquarters for the FDNY. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. And was in disrepair for a number of years until finally renovated in 2014.
My shot was taken on an autumn Hudson River cruise a few years ago (before renovation). I did exaggerate the colors a bit for effect. The image is in my “Funky Coastal Buildings“ collection.
