This was one of my first macro shots taken. It was at the photography show in Birmingham and it was a studio set up where they changed the insects throughout the day and gave tips. I just found this one intriguing as id never seen anything like it.Time
It was an indoor set up in the middle of the day.Lighting
It was an indoor set up with constant studio lighting from above.Equipment
The equipment that I specifically used was my Olympus OMD EM-1 with the 60mm f2.8 macro lens.Inspiration
Id not shot any macro before as id recently bought the lens and also id never seen anything like that insect, so alien looking.Editing
All my post processing was done in Lightroom for the photo just making minor adjustments to colour and light, adding a radial exposure adjustment to draw more attention to the insect. In my camera bag
I normally prepare for all circumstances as I travel a lot and don't wanna miss out on anything that pops up. So I have an iPhone tripod and camera gorilla pod in my side pouches, an on camera flash in the bag with spare batteries. Lens cleaning equipment for weather conditions. Lens wise I have the 60mm macro lens, 12-40mm pro lens, 45mm prime f1.8, and recently added the 40-150mm f2.8 pro lens.Feedback
Obviously a lot of the credit has to do with the set up that was already there in this instance which I cannot take any credit for. All my advice would be from taking the photo is, which is the same as with most animals is be patient, it took quite a while before the insect got into that clear visible position. Also take as many shots as possible its better to have too many and delete some than not have enough and you not having a great clear shot.
