For the Hopi, Navajo and Pueblo peoples of New Mexico, what remains of the extensive pueblo ruins of Chaco Culture National Historical Park is an important part of their ancestral homeland. Built between 850 and 1150 A.D. it's a special place where descendants of the ancient pueblo inhabitants return to pray and honor the spirits of their ancestors. It's a place that is still "alive" and speaks of adaptability and survival.
(And the sun flare is real...as if the spirits really were speaking!)
