Dotting the shorelines of many of the Great Lakes are the remnants of boats and cargo ships. Oftentimes the crews became lost in heavy storms and white out conditions from fog or snow that the lakes famously generate. Without control they careen into the rocky coasts becoming trapped to time. Though the cargo has long been removed, the wooden skeletal remains of each ship’s hull can still be found peeking through the tumbled stones.
