It's odd that beavers are so brazen this time of year. They're usually very quick to evade human contact but a few springs in a row now I've been able to get very, very close. I was ten feet away from this guy this morning and sat down and took photos. He walked up so close to me that he was closer than the minimum focus distance on my lens. It was interesting and peaceful to sit there and watch him eat,
