I was driving home from a pet-sitting job in a high-end Scottsdale neighborhood and I caught this scene out of the corner of my eye as I passed it. It kept nagging at me, so I stopped and backed up so I could go back and capture it while the light was just right. I loved the result.

I was driving home from a pet-sitting job and passed by this scene. I caught a glimpse of the backlighting on the cactus as I was driving by, so I backed up and parked to snap a couple shots.Time
It's been so long now that I don't remember the time exactly, but it was nearing sunset, I believe.Lighting
I didn't do anything special. This was all God's handiwork. All I did was capture it to share with others.Equipment
Honestly, this was shot with my cell phone camera and since it was quite a few years ago now it wasn't even a very good one. I think it was my Samsung Galaxy S6 (I have an S10 now, and the camera is much better).Inspiration
The beauty of the scene simply caught my eye as I was driving past so I went back to capture it.Editing
I don't believe I did any post processing at all on this one. I took this - and I think I even posted it - before I learned how to use Lightroom. If I did any post-processing at all, it was limited to cropping within my phone app. I don't remember anymore. In my camera bag
Normally (now) I carry my Sony with its standard 18-50mm lens, a small table-top tripod, extra batteries and chargers - oh, and a set of photo-tip cards that I think I read through once but don't usually bother to consult. I wish I could afford a good lens because I think it would make a big difference in my photo quality, but I guess that's good motivation for me to up my game so I can someday afford better equipment. :) And of course like everyone, I always have my phone on me. That's currently my Galaxy S10.Feedback
This shot was simply serendipitous. It was a matter of spotting something beautiful and wanting to share it. Always be looking for the beauty in everyday scenes. Nature provides beauty for us to enjoy every day. It's up to us to be aware of it, look for it, SEE it.
