The Kori Bustard (Afrikaans name, Gompou) is the largest flying bird native to Africa. Along with condors, swans and turkeys, the kori bustard is one of the world's heaviest flying birds, as well as being the largest of all bustards.
Their population is rapidly declining as they are killed for meat in many areas. They are mostly only found in national parks.
