Location
I took this photo at the Grand Canyon off the main trail where I tend to always find my best work, off the beaten path!Time
This photo was taken mid-afternoon in March.Lighting
The lighting on this photo is all-natural. Nothing but beautiful sunlight filling all the right branches!Equipment
I used my Canon EOS 5D Mark II with my Tamron SP 17-50 mm F/2.8. I traditionally hand hold my camera for all photos except if I find a nice rock and plan to take a photo of myself!Inspiration
I thought the tree looked amazing and the sky was blue with some clouds. Lots of colors all over!Editing
I personally dislike editing photos. I do my best to always line up the perfect shot when out in the field and do a few minor teaks with shadows and highlights while either stepping up or stepping down the contrast. In my camera bag
When I am out on the trails I always have my 17-50 on whichever body I am using. I have a Canon 7D Mark II which is my main body but the 5DMII is my backup since I love the FPS on the 7D.Feedback
Get off the main trail. Change angles. Be different. Look up and down. Don't mind getting dirty to get a great shot!
