Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken along the Mourne Wall looking towards Spelga Dam & Kilkeel in the majestic Mourne Mountains in County Down, Northern Ireland.

Time

Just before sunset on a cold winter's evening.

Lighting

Thankfully all the lighting was natural and it was a great spectacle to witness.

Equipment

Handheld using a Canon 300D and a standard 18mm lens- I like to travel very light when hiking up the mountains.

Inspiration

I love climbing the Mournes and have done so since I was a kid so I thought it was about time I showed other people just how majestic it can be.

Editing

Stitched and edited to create a panoramic in photo editing software.

In my camera bag

Normally just a standard camera body and a lens- I believe it's more about the person using the camera than the cost of the equipment in the bag.

Feedback

Try to plan the scene beforehand, whether in your head or by taking a few visits to the location before shooting to see how the daylight effects it at different times of the day.
