Location
This photo was taken in the Townsville Botanical Gardens, I think I scared him when I was on my hands and knees trying to capture a cactus, and he happened upon me. But he sure didn't want me there. He ruffled his feathers at me and started squawking....lucky for me, the camera was in my hand, and I did a quick lens change.Time
Taken at mid afternoon, no lighting problems at all.Lighting
No special lighting, just a lovely sunny afternoon.Equipment
I was using my Sony a99 and my Sony 70-300 lens.Inspiration
It was just one of those on the spur of the moment shots!Editing
The post processing was pretty simple, a nice tight crop, curves, sharpening etc.In my camera bag
These days I travel very light with my Sony a99, Tamron 28-300 (a must have), Sony Macro 2.8/100, and an ND8 filter.Feedback
Being able to put your hands on the right lens and change it in a flash! Also, be fully aware of your surroundings and how quickly your subject may change.
