Hi! For some strange reason I missed your comment. It's a little very late, but thanx! :-)

Behind The Lens

Location

In the "Grand Canyon" of France, le Grand Canyon de Verdon. It's a 6km long path along the river, which at the start goes through this tunnel without lights. Just a hole in the mountain here and there.

Time

This was later in the afternoon.

Lighting

Actually I would have loved to be there earlier or later in the day, because the light on the tunnel floor is overexposed, but maybe then it wouldn't have had that nice glow. I guess. I don't know. Still an amateur :-) What I loved was that reflection in the water, which I think was only because of the harsh light coming from outside, which bounced via the floor towards the ceiling.

Equipment

I still had my Canon Powershot SX30is (now a 70D): f/4, 1/60 sec, ISO-80, 65mm. Handheld, no flash.

Inspiration

I loved the semi-abstract view. It was kind of a surreal thing, being in that long, dark tunnel, walking through 5cm of water. I like photographs in which you have to look for a while before you really understand what your eyes see. I was thinking about tilting it, but rather liked it like this.

Editing

Don't really remember what I exactly did, but I think some contrast (this camera just could do jpeg, by the way).

In my camera bag

At the moment: Canoan 70D with Canon 55-250 IS STM, Canon 50mm 1.8 STM, Canon 10-18 IS STM, and analog Canon 28mm f/2.8 for reversed macro; reveral ring for the analog lens; three macro extension ring; Yongnuo flash YN685; YN622 trigger; extra external battery; strong glasses for seeing something at my screen :-) ; remote control; GoPro Hero3 Black. And then outside my bag a tripod en two self-made (okay, my brother did) stabilizers (not used yet).

Feedback

I think it's just a matter of keeping your camera still, leaving enough room around the central subject, and, ehm... I think the most important thing is just keep your eyes open. Alway look around for that nice picture by really enjoying your surroundings.
