Location
This photo is taken in northern Iceland on my way through the highland road called Sprengisandur.Time
This is around noon.Lighting
It was cloudy sky which makes the canyon darker, but sometimes the sun got through the clouds and I waited for a moment like that, which explains that the light is best in the waterfall but not in the area around it.Equipment
I use Canon 5D Mark II and no tripod. This is a HDR shot, 3 immage and merged together.Inspiration
Firs of all I was there for the first time and was blown away of the beauty and the power of the waterfall and its surroundings. I actually shot both long exposure and HDR shot and the HDR shot seamed to be showing more power in the photo.Editing
This picture is HDR, 3 frames, in an RAW file, which I merged together. I had to do some minor adjustments to the picture but only to be able to show in the picture the same things I saw there. In my camera bag
First of all I pack my Canon 5D Mrk II, 16-30 f4 lens, 24-104 f4 lens and 70-200 f4 lens. F4 lenses are ligther to carry and work fine for landscape photograph. I also have Polarized filter and ND filters, one graduated and 1 - 3 - 6 and 12 stops. And of course my tripod :)Feedback
The Icelandic highland and waterfalls are my favourits places to photograph. In some cased shooting whaterfalls with long-exposure technich works good, but in some cases HDR is in my opinion better and more powerful way of showing waterfalls.
