The collared scops owl is a very difficult bird to photograph, and I spent weeks trying. One night I was having an outdoor shower at a village well and this scops owl just stood there. I ran back to the house and returned to find it in the same place. I could easily approach and photograph it with my macro lens and handheld flash.
