Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the farm just down the road from my home in Morgantown, Pennsylvania.

Time

It was taken in the early evening, just as the sun was setting.

Lighting

It was partially clouded and the skies were ablaze with bright oranges and reds.

Equipment

I was using my FinePix S9450W using the Sunset SP setting.

Inspiration

Some of the most beautiful sunsets happen right where I live in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. When I save the brilliant colors of yellows, oranges, and reds, I knew I had to capture that moment.

Editing

Using Photoshop, I made a couple of small adjustments to the exposure, offset, gamma correction, and vibrancy settings.

In my camera bag

The thing I like about the FinePix S9450W, is that not much equipment is required other than some spare batteries. This camera handles very much like a DSLR and boasts a 50x zoom lens which covers a 35mm equivalent focal range of 24-1200mm and features 3-stop lens-shift image stabilisation. This particular image was taken using the 16 megapixel Fine JPEG setting.

Feedback

When using a camera such as the FinePix S9450W or similar models, make sure you get to know the camera. Becoming well acquainted with all the features this camera has to offer is the key to getting some of the photos that rivals some of the more expensive cameras on the market!
