A rite of passage in the best Maine vacations is a stop at “Red’s” for a lobster roll. Not just ANY lobster roll, but the “BEST LOBSTER ROLL IN MAINE”! Acclaimed by many food and travel magazines. And legions of visitors too… There were three of us on this trip, and we packed ours to go, and headed to Pemaquid Point to watch the sunset while we feasted. – The ultimate Maine experience… There was so much we couldn’t even finish…
But, as is very often the case, there was a quite a line at Red’s. My (long suffering) wife patiently handled this chore while I wandered around shooting (she’s in the inset shot)… Down by the river, I found an interesting conglomeration of old pilings each one capped with it’s own ‘guardian’ gull (even the ones in the distance, if you look closely). It seemed they were all waiting for something too… Likely the crumbs and leftovers from the several nearby lobster shacks and restaurants. But maybe a fish too…
I composed the image and layered it with a distressed (some say vintage or “grunge”) look, and added typography for a postcard-type final image.
