"Red Dreams"
This is the second installment in my ‪#‎50WeeksofAlchemy‬ of Alchemy challenge.
Since I can remember I've always been a dreamer. I was caught in school staring out the window, my brain in another world. On countless occasions I found myself exchanging lectures and the hum drum of the mundane for a more colorful alternative.
As I've grown I've lost some of the magic I discovered through dreaming. Unhindered aspirations of what I could be when I grew up became replaced with more realistic needs. I'm trying to get back to a place where I can dream again. Dream outside the realm of immediate needs and responsibilities and look further.
I lost my magic (my mojo, the intangible piece of me that set me apart from normal) somewhere in the process of becoming an adult. But sometimes all we need is a tether to lead us back.
Art is my tether. And I'll get it back ✨
Early on, I didn't realize quite how difficult it would be to shoot (specifically) for this challenge every single week. I have other shoots I'm doing that don't require half as much time as it does to run back and forth between a camera and a the small focal length I have on my 85 mm.
This challenge is definitely pushing my limits as I spent 5 hours on this edit but I'm enjoying the obstacles I'm learning to manuever around.
