Location
I took this photo in my front yard.Time
It was morning and the light was good.Lighting
I was composing with macro lens and the whole flower was not seemingly perfect so I went in close and everything made sense, the colors of fresh flower and background came alive and became the chief subject while the actual flower became secondary.Equipment
The camera was handheld and I used Tokina 35mm/f2.8 on Nikon D90.Inspiration
The light falling naturally on the plant attracted me.Editing
I converted it to jpeg and cropped slightly, other than that not much processing was done.In my camera bag
I have a Nikon 55-200mm, a Tamron 10-24mm and A Tokina 35mm in my bag along side my Nikon D90.Feedback
Go with your heart, try to shoot what you have imagined in your mind and try to achieve that with your camera. The understanding of equipment and light of course helps immensely.
